So what exactly is targeted website traffic?  It’s a little something like this – if you owned a clothing store and just advertised that you sold clothes you may have some people strolling in each day.  When they don’t see what they were looking for they move on to the next store.  About the only thing that brought them in was curiosity to see what you had because it wasn’t plainly stated.  Most people walk out of the store empty handed and you don’t make any money.  On the other hand, you could have a clothing store that sold sports jerseys.  People walking into that store are most likely interested in sports jerseys and may actually buy one if they see something they like, or even come back later to purchase.  The point is there might be less overall people walking in the door but the amount of people walking out of the store making a purchase is big because you showed them exactly what they are looking for.

And so it goes for targeted website traffic – when you land a visitor to your site and give them exactly what they are looking for, they are not only more likely to buy, they are also more likely to make that quick impulse buying decision that is sometimes driven by emotion.  You know those times when you have a quick thought and just want something based on emotion?  Later you may regret buying what you did but there is always the chance to return it.

The same goes with your internet traffic.  When you target a particular type of traffic and present them with the solutions to things that they have struggled with there is typically a quick sale made.  Search traffic is very particular when it comes to landing on a site that has the exact information they are looking for.  If it has the exact information and the page looks somewhat appealing and well formatted they may stick around to read it or watch a video you have there.  Once your targeted website traffic is looking at your website is a great time to give them a free gift and information that has to do with the keyword you searched for.

It’s very tempting to skip the list building and go right for the sale, but trust me on this one, there are some things where you will just have much better results when you build a trusting relationship first through giving them some good information and help.  When you get that organic traffic on an email marketing list you have a chance to not only build a relationship, but you also get to try to sell them your product or other products multiple times.

The more shots you take the better your chances at making a sale with your prospects.  The really great thing is you can usually target those offers to have to do with the keywords that got them to your site to begin with.  If they weren’t all that interested in your product there may be a chance that something magical happens when they are looking at one of the affiliate products you send them to.  Sometimes it just has to do with timing and a product being a better fit for that person.

The bottom line is to increase targeted website traffic so you can build a targeted campaign around that, which will increase your chances of converting traffic into sales.  Increase website traffic and you will increase your sales!
